Youth leaders of Cyaad came up with an idea to design an action on the GCC theme of the month with the title of LET’S SAY YES TO PEACE AND NO CONFLICT.

The idea behind this action was to show solidarity with the most targeted and vulnerable community of Quetta recently dwelling in Mariabad.

The biggest flash mob in Indonesia was held on December 11th 2011 in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. The flash mob participants were partly made up of communities named kakigatel (Itchy feet) flooded around Monas (Monument Nasional, central Jakarta) since 4 o’clock in the morning.

The event “visit to Marghuzar” was conducted by youth leaders. CYAAD support us for this special event. We have visited the coolest place of swat Marghuzar and there we have conveyed the message to the poor folks that peace have very special role in the development of society and country.

For Halloween at my school we thought about ways that we could benefit the community, ways that we could have fun, and ways that we could raise money for an important issue. In the end, we chose to have a trunk-or-treat where little kids could be able to come to a safe environment, pay a small ticket fee, and go to individual cars to collect candy.

The GCC youth leaders named STREET group had a meeting at CYAAD office to discuss their ideas to observe the month of PUBLIC HEALTH. Youth leaders discussed different communities in which to take action, they decided upone Shanti Nagar as their target area, because Shanti Nagar has a large minority population and is the most deprived community of the city lacking the facilities of basic health.

As a student of Forest Grove High School my purpose in recognizing AIDS day (December first) was to raise awareness about a serious health issue, AIDS, and ways of preventing it. I created a poster that spelled out AIDS in condoms and made informational flyers about AIDS/HIV. When people took the condoms, “AIDS” disappeared.

KAPELA was founded at Al-Falah School Bantar Gebang, Bekasi –a location in close proximity to a waste disposal sites.

Last Saturday a group of GCC leaders from the Portland area participated in an hour long video chat with Tunisian leaders in Gafsa. The GCC program in Tunisia is new and this was their first opportunity to meet US leaders. Before the video chat, none of the US youth had previously engaged with anyone from Tunisia.
