1. iEARN-PANGEA VIRTUAL SUMMER SCHOOL.   iEARN-Pangea is training over 200 teachers in the use of Web 2.0 tools, from July 1-14.  Participants are enrolled across 9 online courses focusing on a range of topics, including LAMS, Quia, Moodle, Augmented Reality, Cooperative strategies in the digital classroom (including iEARN projects).  Read More >

2. iEARN-PAKISTAN HOSTS SUMMER CAMPS.  On June 28th,iEARN-Pakistan started its English Access Microscholarship Program in Karachi with online activities for students from different Access Karachi Centers. Students got connected through Skype and Blackboard (Elluminate) and shared their experiences, including discussions of their community service projects, field trips and creative writing.  Mobile technology tools (EVDO Internet devices, laptops and multimedia projectors) were used to connect students.

3. BULLYING.ORG AND iEARN PARTNER TO EDUCATOR TEACHERS AROUND THE WORLD ABOUT BULLYING.  Bullying is a universal issue that affects everyone around the world either directly or indirectly, regardless of race, religion, sex, age or socio-economic status.  Bullying is often the number one non-academic issue that many educators face.  Bullying is also often the number one education concern of parents.  Many educators have never received a course, let alone a class about bullying during their time at university or in the field as classroom teachers.  www.bullyingcourse.com offers professional, research-based, Moodle-supported, online courses and Webinars about bullying and cyberbullying for educators and parents.  Also, within iEARN is a project space for students and teachers to interact on this important topic--applying what is learned in the online course.  See the Bullying Project Page.

4. JOIN A PEACE EDUCATION WEBINAR ON JULY 12, 2011.  The Inter-American Teacher Education Network ITEN team of the Office of Education and Culture of the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington, DC invites you to join the Webinar or Virtual Seminar about:  "Peace Education." This webinar will include discussions on a survey conducted by ITEN about violence in schools: 376 responses were received from 30 countries, 24 from the Americas, including the regions of South America, Central America, the Caribbean and North America.  See the results of the survey.  When: July 12th, 2011 (in English), from 12:30 pm. until 2:00 pm.
