Neighborhood Small Grants Program and the Graffiti Abatement Grant Program.
Greetings,
Neighbors West-Northwest (NWNW) and the Office of Neighborhood Involvement are offering grant programs that support grassroots community projects: the Neighborhood Small Grants Program and the Graffiti Abatement Grant Program.
Both programs will be discussed at the upcoming Grantwriting Workshop on Thursday, September 22, 2011, 6:00 PM at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital's North & South Conference Room, 1040 NW 22nd Avenue. It is highly recommended applicants attend.
Neighborhood Small Grant Program
In its sixth year, this program offers Neighborhood Associations and community-based organizations within the NWNW coalition area an opportunity to build community, attract new and diverse members and sustain those already involved. We encourage applicants to accomplish our goal by building partnerships between neighborhood, business, and community-based organizations. Reaching historically under-engaged communities is a high priority for this grant program. Projects must benefit the community within the Neighbors West-Northwest boundaries.
Graffiti Abatement Grant Program
In its second year, this program supports community-driven improvement projects and community building opportunities in the area of graffiti abatement and repairingthe harm of graffiti on the community. This program places an emphasis on graffiti prevention, graffiti abatement, and/or addressing locations chronically tagged with graffiti. A project's ability to build partnerships and reach under-engaged communities will also be considered. Projects must benefit the community within the Neighbors West-Northwest boundaries. Neighborhood Associations and community organizations can apply.
Applications are available online at www.nwnw.org/resources/grantprogram. Applications for both programs are due no later than 4:00 PM on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 in the NWNW office at 2257 NW Raleigh Street, Portland OR 97210. Postmarks do not count. Late applications will not be accepted.
Sincerely,
Angela Southwick
