Iraq: Sulaimaniya - GCC Youth Helps Repair School Toilets
There are thousands of schools in Iraq ,where toilets are badly damaged and unhealthy . GCC leaders as part of Public Health issue, they came up with an idea to help repair school toilets. So they coordinated with DOE Director, he appreciated the idea and provided the GCC leaders with a list of school which have poorly maintained toilets that may be a cause for spreading illness.
GCC leaders chose one of the schools where mostly IDPs study while the school is in Arabic .Moreover, the possibility of repairing by the youth and the high number of students that study in this school the leaders decided to repair the toilet themselves, once they chose the school they checked to know what needs repairing and the equipment they need. The youth first started repairing the water systems by repairing the pipes and the taps. Then they tried to fix the toilets that faced blockage. They also changed the lights that are out of order. Consequently they washed the whole bath rooms and toilets so as to look good and is hygenic. It is worth mentioning that there are about 800 students who study in this school.
